Us cruisers from Mexico having fun for New Years in Auckland New Zealand last night. We get to recover today and watch California celebrate at 9:00 tonight. Strange world. Strange time zones. The kids here are all on their 2 month summer vacation, picking berries and going swimming! Walking around the city I noticed the new architecture, clean streets and laid back attitude. Liking New Zealand a lot!

This is Mike (and Lori) from Tranqiilo (Baja Haha, various overlapping areas in Mexico).
It’s been so fun keeping up with your adventures, and congratulations on the new Cat! That sounds awesome.
We are on our second season in the eastern Caribbean now, and having a great time. We are now starting to think ahead to next year, with the ABC islands, Colombia, San Blas islands, Panama Canal, and … on to the south pacific!
I guess I’m just doing a bit of a sanity check before going too deep down this rabbit hole. My impressions are that you are loving the south pacific and think that it is a destination worth the substantial trip to get over there. Is that correct?
Do you have any advice tidbits? Do’s or don’t’s from your experiences?

Hi guys! Thank you and wow, sounds like you’re having a great adventure as well. I need to keep up with your tracks as we will be in the Caribbean someday. Yes SP is awesome, it’s HUGE though. Many friends have rushed through, we went sluggish slow. I recommend something in between. Like get a long stay for FP but then leave after 6 months. There are differing opinions about the place. It’s massive, it’s french, it’s remote, it’s breathtaking, it’s a difficult life…
But then, entering Tonga Fiji and NZ, all fun and great weather.
